What We Do
We began our journey in June of 2021 with just a few schools. We have grown our network to over 100 schools across 6 continents
“You are doing great work Global Lighthouse Studios! Thanks for all you do to empower students in Cape Town and around the world.”
-Jasmane Frans
“Working with Global Lighthouse Studios has really helped us as an organization to support refugees, and children who live in the Kakuma Refugee Camp with a deeper understanding of UN SDGs and how to take action to help our own community. We have enjoyed connecting our students with other global classrooms around the world.”
-Amin Bolis
🌍 What We Do
At Global Lighthouse Studios (GLS), we design creative learning experiences that connect students to the world through arts, storytelling, and real-world challenges.
We believe young people learn best when they are actively creating, exploring big ideas, and engaging with meaningful global issues. Our programs blend creativity, culture, and future-focused thinking to help students build skills, confidence, and a sense of purpose.
🎨 Arts-Integrated Learning
The arts are at the heart of GLS. We use music, visual art, media, and storytelling as powerful tools to deepen learning and spark engagement across subjects.
Through creative expression, students explore complex ideas, connect emotionally to what they’re learning, and develop new ways to communicate their thinking.
Students might:
Write and perform original songs connected to history or social themes
Create murals and visual art inspired by global cultures
Produce digital stories and media projects that amplify their voices
🌎 Global & Cultural Connections
GLS brings the world into the classroom. Our programs connect students with global perspectives through virtual exchanges, guest speakers, and culturally grounded projects.
By learning directly from artists, educators, and changemakers around the world, students build empathy, cultural understanding, and a broader sense of their place in the global community.
Experiences include:
Virtual conversations with international leaders and innovators
Exploring global history alongside modern-day challenges
Collaborative projects that highlight cross-cultural connections
💡 Future-Focused Learning
Our signature programs encourage students to think critically about the future and their role in shaping it.
Through projects like Ancient Cities of the Future, students examine how past civilizations solved real-world challenges and apply those lessons to design sustainable, resilient communities for tomorrow.
Focus areas include:
Sustainable cities and environmental stewardship
Clean water, food systems, and community health
Innovation, design thinking, and problem-solving
🎤 Student Voice & Leadership
At GLS, students are not just participants — they are creators, leaders, and changemakers.
We design opportunities for students to share their ideas, present their work, and develop the confidence to use their voices in meaningful ways. Whether through performances, exhibitions, or presentations, students learn that their perspectives matter.
Students develop:
Public speaking and presentation skills
Collaboration and leadership abilities
Confidence in expressing ideas creatively and thoughtfully
🤝 Partnerships That Matter
GLS collaborates with schools, artists, nonprofits, and global organizations to provide authentic, real-world learning experiences.
Our partners bring lived experience, professional expertise, and diverse perspectives into the classroom — helping students connect learning to the world beyond school.
