Water, Wisdom & World Voices

A Global Creative Challenge for World Water Day

In celebration of World Water Day, Global Lighthouse Studios invites students around the world to participate in a simple but meaningful creative challenge inspired by one of our planet’s most vital resources—water.

Students are encouraged to create something that reflects the importance of water in their lives, communities, or cultures. This open-ended challenge allows young people to respond through the creative medium that inspires them most.

Students can respond through:

🎨 Artwork or design
🎶 Music, rhythms, or sound creations
✍️ Poetry or storytelling
📹 Short videos sharing why water matters in their community

Submissions will be accepted through March 31 by posting student work and tagging Global Lighthouse Studios.

Selected creations will be featured in the Global Lighthouse Studios World Water Day Showcase, celebrating youth creativity and highlighting student voices advocating for sustainability and the protection of clean water.

Inspiration

As part of this challenge, Global Lighthouse Studios founder Donna Guerin shares a poem originally written with students inspired by United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.

Recently, this poem was reimagined using an AI music tool to explore how emerging technologies can transform poetry into song—demonstrating how creativity and innovation can work together to amplify student voices.

Why It Matters

When young people express their ideas through music, art, and storytelling, they do more than learn about global issues.

They begin to see themselves as voices for change—helping protect and shape the future of our shared world.

If you'd like, I can also help you add one small section that connects this challenge to SDG 6 and classroom learning, which makes the page much stronger for educators and schools.

Racing to the Moon

A Global Lighthouse Studios Student Digital Art Initiative

Global Lighthouse Studios is excited to launch Racing to the Moon, a student digital art initiative where creativity meets speed, imagination, and the future of exploration.

At a time when global events remind us how interconnected our world truly is, we remain mindful of the challenges many communities are experiencing. The recent decisions to cancel the Bahrain Grand Prix and the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix highlight how quickly circumstances can change.

While motorsport celebrates speed, innovation, and international collaboration, moments like these also remind us of the importance of reflection, compassion, and global awareness.

Through creativity, young people can process the world around them while imagining new possibilities for the future.

The Project

Global Lighthouse Studios is launching Racing to the Moon, a student digital art initiative where creativity meets speed, imagination, and the spirit of exploration.

Inspired by the global energy of Formula One and the bold cosmic visual language of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, students are invited to design digital artworks imagining futuristic race vehicles traveling across lunar landscapes.

Through this creative challenge, students explore the intersection of technology, design, art, and imagination, while sharing their visions for what the future of exploration might look like.

The Challenge

Students are invited to create digital artwork imagining:

  • Futuristic racing vehicles designed for space

  • Lunar landscapes transformed into racetracks

  • Innovative technologies that could power the exploration of the future

  • Artistic interpretations of speed, motion, and the cosmos

The project encourages students to think creatively about innovation, design, and the limitless possibilities of the future.

At Global Lighthouse Studios, we believe creativity is one of the most powerful tools young people have to explore big ideas and shape the world around them.

Students don’t just watch the future.
They design it.

Why This Matters

Projects like Racing to the Moon help students see how creativity and innovation are connected.

By combining art, technology, design, and storytelling, students begin to understand how ideas move from imagination to real-world possibility. Through creative exploration, they build confidence, curiosity, and the ability to think about the future in new ways.

These experiences encourage students to see themselves not only as artists, but also as innovators, designers, and explorers.

📅 Student artwork submissions are due April 30.

Imagine the Future

Creativity begins with a question. As students design their artwork for Racing to the Moon, we invite them to imagine bold possibilities for the future of exploration.

Students might consider questions like:

🚀 What might a race vehicle designed for space look like?
How would it travel across the Moon’s surface or navigate the challenges of space?

🌙 What would a lunar racetrack look like?
Would racers speed through craters, glide across glowing lunar dust, or race beneath the stars?

What technologies might power exploration in the future?
Could vehicles be powered by solar energy, artificial intelligence, or inventions that don’t exist yet?

Students are encouraged to let their imaginations lead the way. There is no single right answer—only new ideas waiting to be discovered.

Through creativity, young people explore possibilities, share their visions, and remind us that the future is something we can all help shape.

🌍 🏅🌎 GLS Winter Games Student Art Challenge

Cheer for Your Country!

As the Winter Games begin, GLS students are stepping into the global spotlight through creativity and school spirit!

Students are invited to take part in our GLS Winter Games Art Challenge, where they will create a poster cheering for a country of their choice and highlighting their favorite Winter Olympic sport.

🎨 How Students Can Participate

Students can choose the format that inspires them most:

  • Draw a picture of their favorite winter sport

  • Take a photo of themselves acting out or representing the sport

  • Design a fun caricature of themselves as a Winter Olympic athlete

Each poster should include:

  • The name, colors, or symbols of the country they are cheering for

  • A visual of their chosen winter sport

  • A cheer message like “Go Team USA!”

📸 From Posters to a Global Collage

Teachers will collect photos of student posters, and GLS will combine them into a digital Winter Games Collage. This collage will celebrate the creativity, cultures, and global spirit of our students — just like the Olympics celebrate countries coming together through sport.

🌍 Why It Matters

This project helps students:

  • Express cultural pride and global awareness

  • Connect creativity with real-world global events

  • Feel part of a worldwide community through art

Together, we’re showing that while athletes compete on the world stage, our students shine through creativity, unity, and school spirit.

Stay tuned for the GLS Winter Games Collage coming soon!
